Muna Pandey Obituary, – Texas authorities are currently investigating the homicide of an international college student who was discovered fatally shot in her apartment last month. This investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect, who was reportedly identified by a tipster from a “Sugar Daddy” website.

Muna Pandey, a 21-year-old student from Nepal, was found deceased in her Houston apartment on Monday, August 26. An “unknown male” allegedly contacted her building manager to report a dead body in her unit, as detailed in a criminal complaint reviewed by PEOPLE. Following this call, the individual reportedly disconnected the line, according to law enforcement.

Bobby Shah

On August 28, Houston police apprehended 51-year-old Bobby Singh Shah on a charge of capital murder, as stated by the Houston Police Department. The criminal complaint includes testimonies from the victim’s friends, neighbor, and employer, all of whom indicated that they last communicated with Pandey on Saturday, August 24. A neighbor reported hearing “loud thumping” from her apartment that evening and noted that he had not seen her since.

The complaint also mentions that Pandey had previously experienced stalking incidents. To enhance her safety, she had installed a security video system, which ultimately aided investigators in piecing together the events. Security footage from August 24 allegedly shows Pandey outside her apartment with shopping bags while Shah is seen pointing a gun at her, forcing her to enter the residence. Approximately an hour later, Shah is reportedly observed leaving the apartment with one of Pandey’s bags.

Two days later, the building manager received a call from the unidentified individual regarding the body found in the apartment. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Pandey with multiple gunshot wounds.

After police released a photograph of the suspect captured on Pandey’s security footage, a local restaurant owner informed law enforcement that an acquaintance had identified Shah as a frequent customer at his establishment, where Pandey had previously been employed. On August 28, a woman contacted the police to inform them that she recognized the suspect from a “Sugar Daddy” website.
