Muhammad Muzammil Arrested; – A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder after authorities reported that he collided with the victim’s vehicle using his own and subsequently shot him multiple times. The suspect attempted to flee, but his vehicle became inoperable, according to law enforcement.
Fairfax County Police have stated that a man was shot and killed early Monday morning in what investigators suspect was a targeted attack.
At 5:03 a.m. on September 15, officers responded to a shooting incident on Fantasia Drive. Irfan Syed, aged 45, was discovered with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Muhammad Muzammil, 25, was apprehended after he confessed to the shooting via a call from a community member, as reported by Fairfax County police. Detectives disclosed that Muzammil had rammed Syed’s vehicle prior to shooting him multiple times. As he attempted to escape, Muzammil’s vehicle became disabled, and a K-9 unit later recovered the firearm used in the incident, according to police.
Muzammil is facing charges of second-degree murder and the unlawful use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
