Montez Desmond Ladson Arrested; – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man from Hollywood in relation to a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in July.
Montez Desmond Ladson, aged 26, faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Lexi Douglas. This charge arises from the crash that occurred on July 12, which claimed the life of 41-year-old Tyler Talley from Hollywood.
Deputies were dispatched to the Cherry Hill Road area of Hollywood late on the night of July 12 following a report of a man lying in the roadway. The individual, later identified as Talley, was pronounced dead at the scene, as stated by Douglas.
According to deputies, there were no witnesses to the incident; however, investigators managed to determine the make and model of the vehicle involved based on debris found at the site, identifying it as an Infiniti Q50 sedan with a red sport bumper.
Court documents indicate that investigators found the owner of a 2015 Infiniti Q50 sedan, which had recently been fitted with a red sport bumper, had attended a party on Chad Lane on the night of the incident. Deputies met with one of the vehicle’s owners and observed damage that was “consistent with a collision,” as noted in an affidavit.
The vehicle was seized by deputies, who subsequently obtained a warrant. Testing of the vehicle’s undercarriage revealed presumptive human DNA in multiple locations, according to the document.
Ladson was taken into custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center on Tuesday.
