Miranda Mariah Greene Obituary, Death; – Texas officials have identified a woman from New Mexico who lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday evening in Gaines County.
Miranda Mariah Greene, a 31-year-old resident of Artesia, New Mexico, was declared deceased at the crash site, which was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday along U.S. Highway 62 near County Road 213 in Gaines County, as stated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to investigators, Greene was operating a 2019 Kia Forte in the left lane of U.S. 62 heading east when she collided with the rear of a 2012 Peterbilt truck and trailer that were also traveling east in the same lane. The tractor-trailer was in the process of making a left turn onto CR 213.
The DPS indicated that the Kia driver’s inability to manage her speed was a contributing factor to the incident. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 55-year-old man from Seminole, sustained no injuries. Both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Additional factors that may have contributed to the collision remain unclear as the investigation continues.
