Miguel Arriaga,Victor A. Garcia Obituary, Death; – The identities of the seven individuals who lost their lives in a bus accident in Mississippi have been confirmed.
The incident took place on Interstate 20 near Bovina at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, as reported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP). The bus was en route from Atlanta, Georgia, to Dallas, Texas.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is conducting an investigation into the bus crash that resulted in seven fatalities and numerous injuries. According to law enforcement, a 2018 Volvo commercial passenger bus was heading westbound on I-20 when it veered off the road and overturned. The bus was operated by Autobuses Regiomontanos.
Six passengers were declared dead at the scene, while one succumbed to injuries at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg. Many other passengers were taken to various hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with injuries that have not yet been specified.

– Victor A. Garcia, 32, from Mexico
– Moises A. Garcia, 31, from Mexico
– Kain Gutierrez, 8, from Mexico
– Perla Gutierrez, 16, from Mexico
– Elia Guzman, 63, from Mexico
– Angelica Palomino, 16, from Mexico
NTSB member Todd Inman stated that a team will be present in Mississippi for a minimum of one week to investigate the incident, collaborating with MHP and the Mississippi Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division.
Inman indicated that the NTSB anticipates releasing a preliminary report regarding the crash within 30 days, with a comprehensive report expected within 12 to 24 months. Witnesses who possess information about the incident are encouraged to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
