Michelson Jeancy Arrested; – A man has been apprehended in relation to a hit-and-run incident that authorities report resulted in the death of a bicyclist in Pinewood last week.

Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office identified the driver in an arrest report released on Tuesday as 45-year-old Michelson Jeancy.

Michelson Jeancy Arrested;

Jail records indicate that he is charged with one count each of leaving the scene of a crash involving a fatality and tampering with physical evidence.

The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on August 25 along Northwest 103rd Street near Northwest 12th Avenue.

Investigators stated that a man on a bicycle had just departed from a Mobil gas station and was traveling westbound when he was struck from behind by a 2013 Honda Civic. The collision propelled the cyclist into the windshield and onto the roadway.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities later identified him as 63-year-old Gregory Hughes, who was recognized by neighbors as “Grey.”
Detectives reported that Jeancy fled the scene without seeking assistance.

On Sunday, investigators revealed that they found the Honda Civic at a residence in Miami, exhibiting front-end damage consistent with the crash.

They also confirmed that surveillance footage from multiple locations connected the vehicle to the incident.

Deputies noted that Jeancy provided a statement to investigators after being informed of his Miranda rights, although the details of that statement were redacted from the publicly available report.

Deputies stated that he was arrested without incident and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

As of Tuesday morning, he remained incarcerated at TGK, with his bond status listed as “to be set.”
