Michelle Heidbrick Obituary, Death;- A driver involved in a hit-and-run incident fatally struck a woman in the northern suburbs on Sunday evening, according to officials.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office reported that Waukegan police and fire personnel responded to the accident near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Jackson Street shortly after 9:30 p.m.
As stated by the coroner’s office, a 36-year-old woman was allegedly crossing the street at the intersection when she was hit by a vehicle, whose driver subsequently fled the scene prior to the arrival of authorities.
The woman, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported to Vista Medical Center East, where she was declared deceased. The coroner’s office has identified her as Michelle Heidbrick, a resident of Mundelein.
Initial autopsy findings suggest that Heidbrick succumbed to blunt-force trauma, as reported by the coroner’s office.
The Major Crash Unit of the Waukegan Police Department is currently conducting an investigation.
