Michael Turnipseed,Michelle Turnipseed Obituary, Death; – Two individuals discovered deceased at a residence in Barron County on Sunday afternoon have been identified as a married couple undergoing a separation, according to law enforcement officials. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a woman found lying in a pool of blood outside a home located just north of Chetek shortly before 1 p.m.
Responding to the scene were deputies from Barron County, officers from the Rice Lake Police Department, personnel from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Chetek Ambulance service. They confirmed that the woman, identified as Michelle Turnipseed, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. Upon searching the interior of the residence, officers discovered the body of Michael Turnipseed, 53. Authorities reported that both individuals had sustained multiple stab wounds.
A knife was located next to Michael Turnipseed. Further inquiries revealed that the couple was in the process of separation, with an active case pending in court. However, law enforcement noted that there was no existing domestic violence “no-contact” order in effect.
According to police, Michael arrived at the residence shortly after noon as part of a prearranged agreement with Michelle. Shortly thereafter, an altercation ensued, resulting in both individuals being fatally stabbed.
The sheriff’s office indicated that deputies had previously responded to this address in September regarding a domestic disturbance. Authorities have stated that the incident is isolated and poses no threat to the community. The identities of the deceased have not yet been publicly disclosed.
