Michael Millizer,Robert Haskins Obituary, Death; – The two individuals who lost their lives in a head-on collision on Wednesday along U.S. Highway 67 near Preemption have been named.
Mercer County Coroner Gregory D. Larson has identified the deceased as 63-year-old Michael Millizer from East Moline and 70-year-old Robert Haskins from Matherville.
According to deputies, a vehicle traveling south crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle heading north, leading to a head-on crash. Both drivers were declared dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies received assistance at the site from the Matherville Fire Department, Sherrard Fire Department, Advanced Medical Transport, Illinois State Police, the Illinois Department of Transportation, and the Mercer County Coroner.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
