Michael Lose Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the driver who lost his life in a collision between a car and a fuel truck on the interstate last month.
On the morning of October 26, police in Springs reported that the car was traveling southbound on I-25 while the fuel truck was attempting to merge onto the interstate.
According to witnesses, the car was weaving through traffic at a high speed. The fuel truck was in the process of merging onto I-25 and was entering the right-through lane when the car collided with the rear of the truck, as stated by the Colorado Springs Police Department in a news release.
The accident occurred just south of exit 139 (MLK Bypass) and resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes of the interstate for several hours. Firefighters successfully managed to prevent a fuel leak despite the truck overturning.
On Thursday, Springs police identified the driver as 26-year-old Michael Lose. He is noted as the 44th individual to be killed on the roadways of Colorado Springs in 2024, according to police reports.
