Michael Alan Davis Obituary, Death; – A man from Norwich lost his life in an accident on Ekonk Hill Road involving three dirt bikes and a pickup truck on Monday evening, according to police reports. The Connecticut State Police have identified the deceased as 28-year-old Michael Alan Davis, who was pronounced dead after being taken to Backus Hospital.
The incident occurred when a 64-year-old man from Griswold, driving a Ford F150, was heading southbound and collided with the three dirt bikes. A fourth dirt bike, operated by a 25-year-old local resident, managed to take evasive measures and avoided the collision, as stated by the police.
Authorities reported that the riders of the other two dirt bikes, a 26-year-old man from Niantic and a 20-year-old man from Taftville, sustained suspected serious injuries. The Niantic man was airlifted to Hartford Hospital, while the Taftville man was transported by ambulance to Backus Hospital. The truck driver was taken to Backus Plainfield Emergency Care Center with minor injuries, according to police.
