Authorities in New York issued an alert for Melina Galanis Frattolin, who was believed to be in “imminent danger” after police say she was abducted in Lake George, New York, on Saturday night.
Frattolin was last seen around 9:40 p.m. on I-87 near Exit 22 by Lake George, according to New York State Police. Although an Amber Alert was issued early Sunday morning, law enforcement later found inconsistencies in the father’s story and the timeline he gave, according to WRGB. The little girl was found deceased in Ticonderoga. Police stated that the suspect’s identity is unknown.

No information was immediately available regarding what the child was doing, her location, or who she was with at the time of the abduction. “The child was taken under circumstances that lead the police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious bodily harm and/or death,” reads an Amber Alert for Melina.
Melina has brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. Police said she was last seen wearing light-colored shorts, a black and white striped shirt, and white Adidas sneakers. Authorities asked anyone with information about the abduction to call the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 518-743-2501 or dial 911.
