Matthew Juarez Arrested; A man is reported to have stabbed and killed a teenage girl in Costa Mesa on Saturday, as stated by authorities.
According to the Costa Mesa Police Department, officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing incident in the 700 block of Shalimar Drive at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a 15-year-old girl lying on the ground with a stab wound.
She was subsequently pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities have withheld her identity due to her age and the sensitive nature of the investigation.
Investigators swiftly determined that the assault was gang-related, as reported by the CMPD. The suspect was subsequently identified and apprehended in Anaheim.
Matthew Juarez, aged 31, was taken into custody in Anaheim on Saturday evening. As of Sunday, the nature of his relationship with the 15-year-old victim remains unclear.
