Mason Kearns Obituary, Death; – The Mount Airy Police Department has confirmed that Mason Kearns, a 13-year-old, tragically lost his life after being swept into a storm drain during the flash floods on Thursday.
His family will be holding a candlelight vigil on Sunday at 8 p.m. at Watkins Park, located at 615 Center St., Mount Airy. Everyone is invited to join in this remembrance.
Additionally, the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company is organizing a donation box for the family at the firehouse situated at 702 N. Main Street. They are seeking monetary contributions as well as gift cards to local restaurants and grocery stores, but they are unable to accept any premade food items.
Furthermore, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with covering the funeral expenses.
