Maria Sanchez Obituary, Death; – Authorities identified the pedestrian who tragically lost her life after being thrown from a vehicle in a collision on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach. Maria Sanchez, aged 46, was confirmed as the victim by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Wednesday.
According to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig, officers responded to reports of a vehicle fire at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Monday, which resulted in the vehicle being completely consumed by flames. Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced Sanchez dead at the scene. The CHP subsequently issued a SigAlert for the westbound freeway and the Cherry Avenue off-ramp, leading to the closure of both sides of the freeway for four hours as they conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal incident.
