Margie Cook Obituary, Death;- The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who lost her life in a collision on Sunset Boulevard. The deceased has been named as 70-year-old Margie Cook, a resident of Pelion.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning near the Lexington Pavilion shopping center, located in the 5000 block of Sunset Boulevard. Officers from the Lexington Police Department (LPD) were required to redirect traffic for several hours on that day.
Coroner Margaret Fisher reported that Cook was exiting a parking lot when her vehicle was struck by a car traveling west on Sunset Boulevard. Fisher confirmed that Cook was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Cook was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The LPD, along with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
