Marcus Landry Obituary, Death; – Louisiana State Police released the name of the 18-wheeler driver killed in a collision with another big rig on I-49 North in St. Landry Parish and troopers provided what the preliminary investigation into the crash revealed.
The trucker who lost his life has been identified as Marcus Landry, 40, of Broussard.
Troopers said the investigation so far shows Landry was driving a 2015 Freightliner M2-160 on I-49 North near the St. Landry-Evangeline parish line on Wednesday, July 30, when he failed to yield and rear-ended a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia that was also northbound on I-49.
They added Landry was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other 18-wheeler was not injured.
