Marco Antonio Cruz Cuenca Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life in a tragic pedestrian hit-and-run incident on May 22, naming him as Marco Antonio Cruz Cuenca, 41, from Kent, as reported by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
As previously mentioned, the event took place at the intersection of South 240th Street and Pacific Highway South, where Cruz Cuenca suffered multiple blunt force injuries after being struck on the road. Regrettably, he was declared dead at the scene.
Witnesses informed officers that the vehicle involved in the incident fled the location immediately after the collision. Shortly thereafter, Des Moines Police discovered the suspect vehicle in the vicinity of the 26000 block of 20th Avenue South, which exhibited noticeable front-end damage. Inside the vehicle were the driver and three passengers.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Seattle, was apprehended and taken into custody for vehicular homicide. Kent Police have stated that it remains unclear whether intoxication was a factor in the accident.
The Kent Police Department is spearheading the investigation into the events surrounding the crash. As of Friday, May 23, no additional information has been disclosed regarding possible contributing factors or the involvement of any other individuals.
