Malekai Alcozer Obituary, Death; – A driver received a sentence of 10 years of probation after admitting guilt in a collision that resulted in the death of one teenage passenger and left another with severe injuries.
On December 8, 2019, Jacob Solis, who was 16 years old at the time, reportedly took his mother’s SUV without permission, lost control, and crashed into a mobile home located at the intersection of 27th Avenue and South Arthur Street.
Malekai Alcozer, aged 14, was declared dead at the scene, while Kyran Murillo, 16, sustained significant injuries. Following the incident, Solis and three other teenagers fled the location. Two of them later returned and identified Solis as the driver.
Authorities stated that Solis admitted to taking his mother’s Chevy Equinox without authorization and noted that he did not possess a permit or driver’s license. Now 21 years old, Solis entered a guilty plea on Tuesday for charges related to an accident resulting in death and another involving serious bodily injury. He was sentenced to 10 years of probation on Wednesday.
