Malakai Robert Piper Obituary, Death;- A man dead after two cars crashed last week in Rancho Cordova has been identified.
Malakai Robert Piper, 21, of Turlock, was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as the man who died after the crash around Tuesday afternoon in the area of Prairie City and White Rock roads.
Piper was reportedly driving north on Grant Line Road in a Hyundai Elantra when he veered into the southbound lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Subaru Impreza, according to the California Highway Patrol. It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Piper died from the crash, authorities said. A boy passenger in the Hyundai, as well as the Subaru driver, were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The boy and Piper are not related, the CHP told ABC10 on Monday.
