Makai Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – A teenager who was fatally shot on Sunday has been officially identified by authorities. The incident occurred in the 13100-block of South Corliss Avenue in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood shortly after noon, as reported by the Chicago police.
Three individuals were present in a residence when gunfire erupted. A 16-year-old male, who sustained nine gunshot wounds, was rushed to Christ Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The medical examiner subsequently identified him as Makai Rodriguez. Additionally, a 17-year-old male, who was shot eight times, was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
An 18-year-old male, who suffered a gunshot wound to his arm, was also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is reported to be in good condition. Detectives from Area Two are currently interviewing a person of interest.
