Lucas DeGeorge Obituary, Death; – A 17-year-old honor student was fatally shot, leading to a car crash, according to authorities.
Three juveniles from Millville, New Jersey, have been charged with homicide, conspiracy, robbery, and weapons offenses related to the incident that occurred on May 17, as reported by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors indicated that surveillance footage showed two unnamed suspects interacting with the victim, who was shot once, before they returned to the residence of the third suspect.
“Investigators discovered that one of the juveniles had communicated with the victim before his death and instructed him to meet the other two juveniles in Millville,” prosecutors stated.
While the prosecutor’s office did not disclose the victim’s name, he has been identified as Lucas DeGeorge in a GoFundMe campaign initiated by his family.
“On May 17, 2025, our cherished son Lucas was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of gun violence,” his parents expressed. “No words can adequately convey the pain and heartbreak our family is experiencing at this moment.”
His parents noted that he was a junior at Buena Regional High School, where he excelled as an honor student. “An honor student enrolled in advanced classes, he was both intelligent and driven,” his obituary states. “He was employed at ACME in Mays Landing and, in various roles, assisted his father in renovating houses through the Veteran Home Project.”]} }}
