Louisa Gonzalez-Hayes Obituary, – The individual who tragically lost her life in a wrong-way collision on Route 33 in Hamilton Township over the weekend has been named.
Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac reported that 68-year-old Louisa Gonzalez-Hayes, a resident of Hamilton Township, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident that took place on Saturday evening.
As per the Pennsylvania State Police, Gonzalez-Hayes was driving south in the northbound lane of Route 33 when she collided with another vehicle at mile marker 27.7.
Her vehicle ultimately came to rest atop the center median rail, while the other vehicle ended up overturned on the right shoulder.
Gonzalez-Hayes was declared dead at the scene, and her dog also perished in the incident. There were no other passengers in her vehicle.
The occupants of the other vehicle were subsequently transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono for medical attention.
