Lori Paige Obituary, Death; A father has been arrested and charged with murder nearly two years after he reported his young daughter missing, a determination made by police following a “comprehensive and exhaustive” investigation.
As stated in a press release from the Tallahassee Police Department, 12-year-old Lori Paige was reported missing by her father, 36-year-old Andrew Wiley, on June 3, 2023. At that time, he allegedly informed the police that Paige had left their home with her backpack in the middle of the night while he was at work. By the end of 2023, law enforcement officials noted discrepancies in Wiley’s account during their search for Paige.
On February 2, 2024, police seized a phone from Wiley’s residence. A forensic examination revealed suspicious internet searches related to remote locations with bodies of water in Alabama and Georgia, among other topics. Authorities indicated that this finding, along with “new information about [Wiley’s] relationship with Lori” in March 2024, prompted investigators to scrutinize Wiley as a potential suspect.
Police initiated a search in a “remote, brush-covered area” identified through digital evidence, but their initial investigation in early 2024 yielded no significant findings. Over a year later, on April 5, 2025, authorities returned to the site for a controlled burn that cleared a substantial amount of brush, leading to the discovery of human remains later confirmed to be those of Lori Paige. Following this revelation, Wiley was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
