Liam Newman Obituary, Death; – A man from Queensland who tragically lost his life in a skydiving incident has been named. Liam Newman, aged 25, was engaged in a skydiving activity near a rural area in Tarawera, approximately 260 kilometers west of Toowoomba, on Tuesday when emergency services were alerted.
Friends, family, and colleagues have expressed their grief on social media following the untimely passing of the young skydiver.
Newman’s employer, iFLY Indoor Skydiving in Brisbane, issued a statement on Facebook confirming his death. “We are deeply saddened to learn that one of our team members, Liam Newman, has experienced a fatal accident during a skydiving event in Western Queensland today,” the company stated.
“He was a cherished member of our staff, and our thoughts are with his family during this challenging time.” In honor of Liam and the team, the Brisbane tunnel will be closed for the next few days. An online fundraiser has also been initiated by Newman’s close friend, Cody Mason.
Mason remarked that Newman was an enthusiastic skydiver who “dared to push the limits.” “Our brother and best friend, Liam Newman, has tragically passed away in a skydiving accident. Liam was a man who sought to push boundaries and had aspirations of achieving greatness,” he stated.
“Having been my best friend for 20 years, he is like a brother to me, and it pains me to find myself in this situation.” The Queensland Police have confirmed that the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the fatal skydiving incident, which involved a parachute malfunction.
Newman sustained life-threatening injuries and succumbed at the scene. The Australian Parachute Federation (APF) has also announced that it is conducting an investigation into Newman’s death.
