Lester Y Rivera Santiago Obituary, Death; – State police have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life last week in a devastating single-vehicle accident on southbound Route 8.
Lester Y. Rivera-Santiago, a 41-year-old resident of Waterbury, tragically perished when his black 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck collided with a metal wire rope barrier, resulting in the vehicle being consumed by flames.
The incident took place around 10:30 p.m., approximately one mile north of exit 38. Authorities have yet to determine the reason for his departure from the roadway. The collision inflicted damage on roughly 250 feet of the wire rope railing. The investigation is ongoing, led by the state police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad.
