Lazias Davis Obituary, Death; – The driver involved in a fatal pedestrian accident in Durham last week has been charged with a felony, according to police reports released on Tuesday.
As stated by the Durham Police Department, 18-year-old Lazias Davis from Durham was trying to cross Guess Road on foot when he was struck by a 2017 Honda Accord in the right lane at approximately 6:46 p.m. on Thursday, November 13.
Davis was declared dead after being transported to the hospital. Additionally, a juvenile passenger in the vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
On Tuesday, law enforcement officials identified the driver as 29-year-old Ebony Donald from Morrisville. She faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, reckless driving with wanton disregard, and speeding.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police reported that Donald has not yet been arrested.
