Lawrence Claypool Obituary, Death; – A 59-year-old cyclist has passed away after being hit by the side mirror of a truck on Sunday night. Preliminary investigations into the crash suggest that around 11:51 a.m., a Ford F-150 was heading south on FM 105 near FM 1132.
Reports indicate that a cyclist was riding on the improved shoulder, crossed the road in front of the Ford, and was struck by the passenger side mirror of the Ford, as per information from the Texas Department of Public Safety. The driver and one passenger in the Ford were unharmed.
The cyclist was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the cyclist did not survive the injuries sustained in the crash and was declared deceased by medical personnel. He has been identified as 59-year-old Lawrence Claypool from Vidor.
