Latasha Polk Obituary, Death; – The last victim of the terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day has been officially identified.
Family members have confirmed that 47-year-old Latasha Polk lost her life when the assailant drove through crowds on Bourbon Street, discharging his weapon before being shot and killed by a New Orleans Police Department officer. Polk was a mother to a 14-year-old son.
Regnicea Butler, Polk’s sister, shared that the French Quarter held a special place in Polk’s heart. Butler characterized her sister as diligent and a certified nursing assistant. Polk’s name and image were prominently displayed on the final cross at a growing memorial at the attack site.
In total, 14 individuals lost their lives in this tragic event. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are scheduled to meet with the bereaved families on Monday.
