Larry Smith,Dawson Hogan Obituary, Death; – The Kansas Highway Patrol has released the names of the eight individuals who lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision on I-70 last month, which involved over 70 vehicles.
The highway was ultimately closed on March 15 due to severe blowing dust and complete lack of visibility; however, the accident occurred under perilous driving conditions. The incident took place between mile markers 28 and 29 in the northwestern region of Kansas.
The deceased individuals are as follows:
Larry Smith, 72, Sharon Springs
Dawson Hogan, 20, Salina
Baiel Sharshembiev, 24, Philadelphia
Carlos Arzate, 48, Shattuck, Oklahoma
Manuel Alarcon, 57, Dodge City
Stephanie Purcell, 61, Evansville, Indiana
Mario Juarez, 31, Garden City
Giovanni Stefan, 60, Troy, Michigan
Of the eight fatalities, six were drivers, while Arzate and Juarez were passengers. The Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log did not disclose the identities of those who suffered non-fatal injuries.
