Laronda Jo Pyles Obituary, Death; – A 55-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident early Monday morning. The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Laronda Jo Pyles, who was identified as the victim.
Pyles, a resident of Birmingham, was a pedestrian on I-65 South at I-59/20 when she was hit by a motor vehicle. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene, police said.
The incident occurred on July 21, 2025, and Pyles was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:56 a.m. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
