Landen J W Comer,Nathan Vogelsang Obituary, Death; – Two men from Ripley County have lost their lives following a severe accident in southern Indiana on Tuesday. According to the Indiana State Police, 24-year-old Nathan Vogelsang was traveling south on US 421 near County Road 100 North shortly before 3 p.m., just north of Versailles.
For reasons yet to be determined, Vogelsang lost control of his vehicle, veering into the northbound lanes where he collided head-on with a semi-truck operated by 34-year-old Oleh Hrudnenko. The police reported that both Vogelsang and his passenger, 19-year-old Landen J. W. Comer, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Hrudnenko suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident. US 421 was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation by ISP and to allow for the cleanup of the roadway. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing, but there are currently no indications that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
