Lana Arbogast Obituary, Death; – The driver killed in a crash in the Briargate area on Sunday, June 29, was identified as 74-year-old Lana Arbogast by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), on Sunday, at around 10 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of North Union Boulevard and Research Parkway about a two-vehicle crash. When officers arrived, the Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR were providing medical aid to the driver of a Hyundai, later identified as Arbogast. Arbogast was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
CSPD said its investigation showed Arbogast was traveling east on Research, preparing to make a left turn to travel north on Union. The driver of an Audi Q7 was traveling west on Research with a green light. Arbogast was making a left turn with a flashing yellow turn light, and the Audi collided with the passenger side of the Hyundai.
On Friday, July 4, Arbogast died from her injuries.
CSPD said this was the 21st traffic death in Colorado Springs in 2025. At this time last year, there were 30 traffic deaths in Colorado Springs.
