Kristopher Gari Obituary, Death; – The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual shot and killed by Reno police early Monday morning in west Reno as 25-year-old Kristopher Gari, a resident of Reno.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., Reno police attempted to apprehend Gari at the Maverik gas station located at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Keystone Avenue. A physical confrontation ensued between Gari and the officer, leading to the shooting, as reported by the Sparks Police Department, which is overseeing the investigation. According to Sparks PD, Gari had evaded Reno officers on two separate occasions over the weekend while driving his vehicle.
The medical examiner’s office indicated that Gari received lifesaving efforts from both officers and medical personnel but ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. One officer involved in the incident sustained minor injuries.
