Kionyah Shorts Obituary, Death; – A 17-year-old girl killed in a Central City shooting early Sunday was identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Wednesday.
Kionyah Shorts was declared dead on scene at the 2600 block of Jackson Avenue just after midnight, New Orleans police said.
A woman was also injured in the shooting. She was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound that was not life threatening, police said. Police had not released any more information about the shooting since Sunday.
