Kevin Patel Obituary, Death; – The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified the 28-year-old man who was fatally shot on a sidewalk in Lincoln Park on Wednesday night. The medical examiner’s office confirmed that the victim was Kevin Patel, a resident of Chicago. Reports indicate that Patel was shot in front of his home.
At approximately 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of West Lill Avenue, close to the intersection of Lill and Halsted. Upon arrival, officers found Patel on the sidewalk, having sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Social media footage shared shortly after the incident depicted multiple police vehicles at the location, with yellow caution tape surrounding the intersection. Witnesses reported seeing a man and a woman fleeing the scene on foot.
