Kevin Christensen,David McFarland Obituary, Death; – The two people killed in a homicide incident at an apartment on Spokane’s South Hill have been identified.
According to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victims were identified as Kevin Christensen, 60, who died from stab wounds to the neck and abdomen, and David McFarland, 61, who died from a gunshot wound to the torso. Both deaths have been ruled homicides. Spokane police said it began when a male suspect attacked a female resident with a knife. The woman was not injured after another tenant pulled her to safety.
Police said the suspect then fatally stabbed a man near a stairwell. Afterward, the suspect encountered a man walking his dog. When the suspect charged at him, the dog walker, who was armed, shot and killed him. SPD said the shooting appeared to be an act of self-defense. The man who fired the shot attempted to provide aid to the stabbing victim before officers arrived.
Investigators said all individuals involved are cooperating. No arrests have been made.
