Kenyar Hill Arrested; – Authorities in Camden are confident they have identified the individual accountable for a cold-case stabbing that occurred more than ten years ago. Kenyar Hill, aged 46, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of 42-year-old Brian Holden in the autumn of 2011.
According to investigators, Hill emerged as a suspect in 2022 after his DNA matched a sample collected from the crime scene.
Background information:
Authorities believe the fatal stabbing transpired during a confrontation between Holden and Hill at an abandoned residence on Mechanic Street in October 2011.
In a police interview, the victim’s girlfriend recounted that she had met Hill earlier that evening and consented to engage in sexual activity in exchange for payment.
Subsequently, investigators report that the woman had a dispute with Hill when he attempted to reclaim his money. It was at this point that she summoned Holden, who then confronted Hill.
Officers from the Camden Police Department responded to the residence and discovered Holden lying in a front room with multiple stab wounds.
He was declared deceased at Cooper University Hospital.
Further investigation:
In 2022, authorities were informed that DNA database results had identified Hill as a “high stringency match” for the DNA samples collected on the night of the crime.
This new lead prompted investigators to re-interview witnesses from the 12-year-old murder case and ultimately determine that Kenyar Hill was indeed responsible for the crime.
