Kent Russell Obituary, Death; – A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder following a shooting incident that occurred early in the morning on Sunday, June 29, prompting a response from the Pioneer Village police.
According to the Kentucky State Police, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, the Pioneer Village Police Department sought assistance from troopers in relation to a fatal shooting at a residence on Pioneer Trail. Trooper Scotty Sharp reported that the victim was identified as 33-year-old Aaron Welker, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found Kent Russell, 34, present at the location. After conducting an interview, Sharp indicated that Russell was charged with murder and subsequently taken to the Bullitt County Detention Center.
The body of Welker was transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, where an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Monday morning, as stated by KSP.
The investigation remains active.
