Kenneth Jenck Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a truck just outside of Silverton on Friday afternoon, according to authorities. Officials with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office say the crash was reported just after 4:45 p.m. near the 8000 block of Mt. Angel Highway.
The motorcyclist, identified as 51-year-old Kenneth Jenck of Gladstone, died at the scene, according to deputies. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragic event,” officials said in a statement on Facebook.
The driver of the truck, only identified as a 39-year-old Salem man, also experienced minor injuries in the crash and remained at the scene, according to deputies. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, and no citations have been issued or arrests made, authorities said.
The road was closed for about three hours as investigators with the Marion County CRASH Team were at the scene. Deputies say they were assisted by the Marion County district attorney’s office, Mt. Angel Fire District, Marion County Public Works, the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Silverton Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
