Kayden Acuff,Jamicha Lovings-Smith Obituary, Death; – Two individuals, one of whom was a resident of Vicksburg, lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident in Louisiana. According to Louisiana state troopers, the incident took place on U.S. Highway 80, east of LA Highway 601-2, shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 1. The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Kayden Acuff from Tallulah, Louisiana, and 21-year-old Jamicha Lovings-Smith from Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Troopers reported that Acuff was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 80 in a 2015 Nissan Altima when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road. In an attempt to regain control, Acuff steered to the left but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross both westbound and eastbound lanes before colliding with a tree.
Both Acuff and Lovings-Smith were not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have indicated that impairment may have played a role in the accident, and toxicology samples have been collected for further analysis. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
