Kavari Drisdell Obituary, Death; – Coroner Michael D. Burkham has identified the 12-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike on June 15, at the intersection of Van Dyke Street and King Street.
The victim has been identified as Kavari Drisdell of Decatur.
According to the initial investigation, Drisdell was traveling eastbound across North Van Dyke Street when he was struck by a 2011 Dodge Challenger. Drisdell was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Dodge, a 45-year-old Decatur resident, did not sustain any injuries. He was subsequently arrested on charges of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-Causing Death.
