The deceased include 72-year-old Lynne J. Lyons, her 33-year-old daughter Katelyn A. Ryan, and Katelyn’s husband, 42-year-old Timothy M. Ryan.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and police, arrived at the scene at 4 Locust Park shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, where they discovered the two-story residence engulfed in flames and learned that several individuals were trapped inside. A woman was observed calling for assistance from an upstairs window, and footage captured first responders utilizing ladders to access the upper level. Authorities reported that two additional individuals sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
At this time, investigators from both the police and fire departments have not provided any information regarding the cause of the fire. The police have indicated that the investigation remains active.
A man claiming to be one of the survivors shared his thoughts on the Colonie Police Department’s Facebook post concerning the incident. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign was established yesterday in memory of Timothy Ryan by his employer, Safe Care Mobility Premiere Transportation Team, based in Albany. The funds raised will assist with funeral expenses and other financial obligations for Ryan’s family, as stated in the fundraiser.
