Karwan Breem,Karolin Breem Obituary, Death; – Two students from Lincoln Public Schools tragically lost their lives in a crash on Monday, as confirmed by the police.
The incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Antelope Valley Parkway and Virginia Street. Investigators reported that an 18-year-old named Karwan Breem was driving a red 2014 Cadillac ATS northbound on Antelope Valley Parkway when he switched lanes and accelerated quickly to overtake two vehicles.
Due to hydroplaning on the wet roadway, Breem drove onto the curb, subsequently losing control of the vehicle, which spun and slid into oncoming traffic, according to Lincoln police. The vehicle then collided with a blue 2017 Nissan Frontier, operated by a 19-year-old man from Oklahoma, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Both Breem and his 15-year-old sister, Karolin Breem, who was a passenger in the car, were taken to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, as stated by Lincoln police. Officials have indicated that their names will not be released at this time. Lincoln Public Schools has confirmed that both individuals were students within the district.
“Our thoughts are with all the families affected by this tragedy,” stated Lincoln police in an official announcement. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
