Karon J Clay Obituary, Death; – Police say two people were found dead in a Johnson County home after officers were called for a welfare check.
Greenwood Police Department crews were called around 11:30 a.m. Monday to a house in the 600 block of Greenway Street for a welfare check. This is near U.S. 31 and Smith Valley Road in Greenwood.
Officers reportedly arrived and found two dead bodies inside the home. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 3-year-old Karter K. Clay and 33-year-old Karon J. Clay. They are mother and son. The coroner’s office also confirmed that Karon Clay was pregnant and in her third trimester when she was killed.
Autopsies were completed on Karon and Karter Clay on Tuesday. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office, however, indicated that it will not be releasing the decedents’ exact manners and causes of death because GPD’s investigation of the incident is ongoing.
The case remains under investigation.
