Kara Welsh Obituary, – Authorities have identified a man from Loves Park as the suspect in the shooting incident involving a UW-Whitewater student, as confirmed by Whitewater police on Tuesday. Chad Richards, aged 23, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, endangering safety through the use of a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct while armed.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight on August 30, when Kara Welsh, a 21-year-old resident of Plainfield, Illinois, was fatally shot in an apartment located in the 100 block of West Whitewater Street. As per the Walworth County Clerk of Circuit Court, Richards is scheduled to appear in court on September 3. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist Kara’s family and commemorate her life.
