Juan Villegas Martinez Obituary, Death; – A 53-year-old man, who was tragically hit by a driver in Pacoima that subsequently fled the scene, was identified by county officials on Wednesday.
Juan Villegas Martinez was struck at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday in the 13200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that Martinez was hit near Ralston Avenue by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling southbound on the boulevard.
Martinez, a resident of Pacoima, was crossing the intersection diagonally at the time of the incident, according to police reports.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Witnesses informed a videographer that the pickup was last observed heading northbound on Sutter Avenue from Van Nuys Boulevard.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the fatal hit-and-run to contact the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8116 to speak with Investigator James Takishita.
