Juan Arteaga Diaz Obituary, Death; – A 44-year-old man, one of three victims discovered shot dead in a vacant lot located in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles, south of Lancaster, was identified by county authorities on Tuesday.
The identities of the other victims remain unknown.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station responded to a report of gunfire at approximately 4:48 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of 215th Street East and East Palmdale Boulevard, as stated by the LASD’s Information Bureau.
The initial call was escalated to indicate multiple gunshot victims at the scene. Upon arrival, deputies found the three victims seated in two vehicles, each suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to LASD homicide Lieutenant Steven De Jong.
All three victims were declared dead at the scene by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Juan Arteaga Diaz was identified, along with a man in his 40s and a 65-year-old woman, by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
News footage from the scene depicted a white sedan with bullet holes in the driver’s side window and a red SUV positioned in front of a white trailer. All vehicles were located in a vacant lot littered with tires, adjacent to what seemed to be a storage area for commercial trailers.
