Jozie Beth Hrenchir Obituary, Death; – A 48-year-old woman from Gallatin Gateway lost her life in a two-vehicle accident in Gallatin County on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. near mile marker 67 on US Highway 191.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling northbound on Highway 191 in a Toyota Tacoma, and she was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The MHP confirmed that she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The other vehicle involved was a Ram 5500 ambulance belonging to the Big Sky Fire Department, which was heading southbound. The ambulance had two occupants: a 27-year-old man from Bozeman and a 26-year-old man from Helena, both of whom were also wearing seatbelts. The MHP reported that the driver of the Toyota was unable to navigate a curve and veered into the path of the Ram, resulting in a collision.
Following the impact, the Toyota left the roadway and overturned, trapping the driver inside; she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as Jozie Beth Hrenchir. The two individuals in the Ram sustained no serious injuries.
The MHP indicated that alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to have contributed to the accident, and the roadway conditions were wet at the time. Emergency responders from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Big Sky Fire Department, and Gallatin Gateway Fire were dispatched to the scene.
