Joyanna Vansant Arrested; – Police say a woman is charged with murder following a welfare check on Friday. The Horry County Police Department said officers responded to Dinger Court in the Burgess area.
The door was reportedly answered by an individual covered in blood, who no longer lives at the location. Authorities say information was shared that led to a sweep of the property. HCPD says they found a dead individual in a closet and evidence of a shooting.
Police identified the suspect as 53-year-old Joyanna Vansant.
Vansant is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. She is booked at the J Reuben Long Detention Center with no bond set.
There was and remains no risk to the community at large. HCPD says the investigation remains active, and additional information will be provided when possible
